Towards a more sustainable building culture
Towards a more sustainable building culture
Global challenges in climate change and environmental protection have become increasingly visible. Environmental aspects are also increasingly considered in construction and renovation projects. In Finland, the new Construction Law coming into effect in 2025 will also increase obligations.
At Designurakka, we want to be part of promoting a more sustainable building culture. This means, instead of just grand words, everyday, practical actions that allow us to avoid a short-lived disposable culture in our projects. It's not always necessary to build new; existing spaces can be renovated to meet changing needs. Our skilled and experienced designers find new potential in any space!
Already in the planning phase, we consider the possibilities to recycle and refurbish existing materials and furniture. Material choices play a crucial role in taking the environment into account; today, there is a significant amount of low-carbon, recycled, and recyclable materials available.
In construction projects, avoiding waste and proper recycling of waste also matters. We bring decades of experience in effective and appropriate solutions to renovation projects. In life cycle thinking, it is essential that products or materials are long-lasting, durable, and repairable.
We are happy to assist you when you are considering renovating your home or commercial space!
